Discworld artwork and craftwork

Postby Grace Speaker » Mon Jun 08, 2015 02:25 pm

When we were discussing the cover art of the upcoming Shepherd's Crown, it occurred to me that we don't have a section on the Forum for Discworld artwork - sharing, discussions on, info on artists, exhibitions, fanpics, where/how to buy, Discworld maps, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera

So to kick things off, here's a few helpful tidbits to get started:

Paul Kidby
Books:
The Art of Discworld
Web:
http://www.paulkidby.net/
https://www.facebook.com/paulkidby
Exhibitions :
Discworld & Beyond - Wardown Park Museum, Luton 25th July - 1st November. http://www.lutonculture.com/whats-on/wh ... exhibition
The Discworld Baron - Salisbury Barons' Charter Project. http://www.thebaronscharter.org.uk

Josh Kirby
Books:
The Josh Kirby Discworld Portfolio
In the Garden of Unearthly Delights: Paintings of Josh Kirby
Web:
STP on Josh Kirby: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KopJyHD9leA
https://www.facebook.com/joshkirbyart
http://www.artofjoshkirby.com/ This seems to have replaced the old joshkirbyart.com site which seems to have been taken down, but says 'Coming Soon' - if anyone knows more, please update us!

Anyone know of sites/galleries where you can but Discworld artwork, limited edition/signed prints etc?

Just gonna pop a fan art picture here of Sam Vimes, which looks uncannily like Hugh Laurie . . .

If anyone is thinking of getting a tattoo, I stumbled on a facebook group called Discworld Tattoos which might be a good source of inspiration and information

I... I... I don't have room for it. Shame really.
My next project is a book in which I explore the influence of the music of Beyonce on the writings of J R R Tolkien. It's called "It you write it, you have to put a ring in it"

Ah, so you were tempted then? . . . I did wonder if it might have been you who bought the first one before the bronze was even dry . . .
