Good Omens is being made in to a new TV Series . . .

The bit of the forum where you can be the director, producer, and critic of anything that is movie related in a Discworldly sort of way.

RA would be a BRILLIANT choice - I'll kick Kris Marshall off the bench :)
Beelzebub/Dagon and Brother Francis - Andy Serkis, although he's probably too expensive, so Stephen Mangan would be good as Brother Francis

Stephen Mangan would be another good choice for Crowley
Nanny Ashtoreth - Michelle Gomez (Missy in Doctor Who)

Or indeed Sue White in Green Wing - from which I notice you have a lot of your choices ;)
Death - Charles Dance

Or Ralph Fiennes
Famine - Stephen Mangan or Ryhs Irfans

Tall, skinny, saturnine - possibly black - there's an American actor I'm thinking of but can't place...
War/Carmine Zuigiber - Rosario Dawson (with her hair dyed auburn or just in a wig), the woman is drop dead gorgeous

Well, OBVIOUSLY we want Summer Glau for this one, but ... ;)
Another good choice would be Sian Brooke
Pollution - not sure on this one, but Laurence Fox maybe?

I think Bruce Langley (Technical Boy on American Gods) has the insane aura for this one

good point and I agree

RE Nanny Ashtoreth - Michelle Gomez (Missy in Doctor Who)

guilty as charged - loved that show! :D

Re Death - I'm not sure Ralph Fienne's voice is deep or sonorous enough, but on that note I'd like to add in Idris Elba as a contender :D

Re Famine -

gonna need a bit more of a clue - what's he been in?

Re War/Carmine Zuigiber - Sian Brooke is a brilliant actress but having seen her on the stage, she's a bit too petite to have the physical presence of War in my mind. Summer Glau just doesn't get my motor running, I'm afraid. Rosario Dawson, in Danny Boyle's Trance on the other hand . . . I can certainly see men fighting over her! Hell, after a drink or two, I'd be willing to start a punch up over her!

Re Pollution - I haven't seen American Gods yet :( so will take your word for it on the Langley chap. He certainly has the right sort of face for it

Neil has reiterated his promise that fans will be extras in at least one scene - probably the death of Agnes Nutter

I believe there's a sliding scale - the more you've annoyed Rod Brown, the nearer you get to the explosives...
My next project is a book in which I explore the influence of the music of Beyonce on the writings of J R R Tolkien. It's called "It you write it, you have to put a ring in it"

You just beat me to it!!
Great choices aren't they? :D :D :D
Michael Sheen as Aziraphale and David Tennant as Crowley - LOVE IT :D :D :D
This bodes very well for the rest of the cast - can't wait to see who else is going to be in it! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Love this response from Rob on Twitter to the choice of words in the Variety announcement - he is making a bloody good point!!

My job as Executive Producer on #GoodOmens is primarily to remind the world the book had TWO FECKING AUTHORS @Variety.

You go Rob!! :thumbl: :thumbl: :thumbl:

Speak his name!

Ah. Michael Sheen.

Not Martin Sheen.

That does make more sense...

My first thought (after correcting my Sheen-compass) was they'd cast them the opposite way round to the way I would have. I associate Tennant with hero roles - The Doctor, the inspector in Broadchurch - but then I remembered how well he played villain Kilgrave in Jessica Jones. I also thought anyone who could play Tony Blair was a shoo-in for a demonic role - but I saw him in Passengers on the flight to Nullus Anxietas and he's excellent in that.

However, interesting as "who" is, I'd really like to know "when"!
