. . . by the BBC in collaboration with Amazon :D

Neil Gaiman is doing the screenplay as well as being an exec producer, so it's in the best of hands.

I wonder who they'll get to play Crowley and Aziraphale? Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston wouldn't be unappreciated in my living room . . .

Hooray! Official at last! The only annoying bit is "Set to broadcast in 2018"

I agree, I'm no good at the 'P' word either and even then it's going to be shown on Amazon Prime, before it's shown on the Beeb . . . :bounce:

I just hope they get the casting right. I think Peter Capaldi might make a good Famine, but can't make up my mind about Pollution or War

I wonder how heavily Amazon is involved as it's being shown there first for prime subscribers.

I expect they're forking out quite a lot of the cash :) TV of the scale of Good Omens shouldn't be cheap...

But will Neil be keeping his promise that fans will be in the Death of Agnes crowd scene?

I don't think Neil can promise that. Rod Brown - maybe!

What fan would want to be in it?

And if you can't figure out that was sarcasm and I would love to be in it, more fool you!

Neil did some Good Omens script reading in Texas recently and dropped hints that casting nnouncements would be made shortly.

Is it too soon to start the "I think X should play Y" game in which we all get it horribly wrong?

Capaldi has time on his hands - perhaps Witchfinder Sergeant Shadwell?

Kris Marshall as Newton P

Angela Barnes as Anathema Device

Neil himself as Crowley, or if he won't do it, Richard Coyle (Benedict Cumberbatch would be too expensive)

Bill Nighy as Aziraphale

Una Stubbs as Madame Tracy

More than once Terry has said that Aziraphale is based (heavily) on Colin Smythe, and he's willing to play it if he's ever asked :)

:D They are all good choices

My own wish list would be:
Agnes Nuter - Miriam Margolyes or Julie Walters
Newton P - Kris Marshall or Richard Ayoade, although they might be a bit too old for the character now?, so maybe James Acaster or Joe Thomas (from The Inbetweeners)
Anathema Device - can't decide on this one, although herself from GoT might be good - whatshername who plays Arya Stark
Madame Tracey - Una Stubbs would be good or maybe Tamsin Greig

Crowley - Benedict Cumberbatch (REALLY hoping they can afford him), but if not I agree with Chris - Richard Coyle would also be good
Aziraphale: Bill Nighy, Rhys Irfans, Eddie Izzard, or possibly Julian Clary who would certainly fulfil the description: "Many people, meeting Aziraphale for the first time, formed three impressions: that he was English, that he was intelligent, and that he was gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide"

Beelzebub/Dagon and Brother Francis - Andy Serkis, although he's probably too expensive, so Stephen Mangan would be good as Brother Francis
Nanny Ashtoreth - Michelle Gomez (Missy in Doctor Who)
Death - Charles Dance
Famine - Stephen Mangan or Ryhs Irfans
War/Carmine Zuigiber - Rosario Dawson (with her hair dyed auburn or just in a wig), the woman is drop dead gorgeous
Pollution - not sure on this one, but Laurence Fox maybe?
Hastur - Peter Capaldi, David O'Hara or Tommy Flanagan (for some reason Hastur is Scottish in my head - probably due to Capaldi's apoplectic performance as Malcolm Tucker, as it's how I imagined Hastur to be)
Witchfinder Shadwell - I agree with Pat, Peter Capaldi would be great at this too

I have no idea about child actors for Them though
