what is wadfest?

Postby archerinwood » Sun Jan 09, 2011 08:21 pm

I am a beginner and I would like to know what Wadfest is.
I will be playing Thenardier at the Theatre royal in Margate, Kent from 24th July to 28th. If you are in the area at the time please click the link to get more info:

see here.

In summary,

an annual meet of discworld fans at a campsite in sunny (or rainy) Nottinghamshire. We play games, have fun, have a couple of drinks, have talent contests, bash penguins, a couple more drinks, spend money (charity auction), have fun, meet great people, have fun and maybe a couple more drinks.

Its just a fun weekend with lots of similarily minded people.

and a much cheaper option than, say any of the formal conventions. We have talent shows and murder mysteries. It is for all ages from babes in arms to oldies.
Check out photos on the various threads and also it has its own website www.wadfest.co.uk with its own forum.

even if there are no stamps on sale, you will find lots of flatalists there and those with dry secure tents may even have some of their collection with them. :D

Actually "What is Wadfest?" is probably the most meta-physical and difficult to answer question I've seen posted on here!

I could not ascertain the date and location of the Wadfest. So when and where is it?

Unfortunately I won't be coming. I am 14 so I can't drive and my parents aren't even taking me to spring event:(. Wadfest is further away so sadly no. This year is shaping out to be a no event year :(.
