Well that was the worst Star Wars convention...

Postby cliftos2000 » Tue Nov 29, 2011 01:57 am

... I've ever been to.

Having turned up on the Thursday, I was fully looking forward to the weekend. I had my limited edition Jedi Luke costume ready, along with a phial of Georges DNA to trade.

But imagine my disappointment:

No one dressed as a Jawa,
No one wearing a check shirt,
A sausage supper when it CLEARLY should have been blue milk,
Not one, NOT ONE lightsaber fight to be had for love nor money,
No impromptu dialogue quote battles,
No Slave Leia costumes,

More importantly...

No Cliques,
No feeling of being isolated,
No end of things to do,
No shortage of great people to meet and stay in touch with,
Not wanting to go home on the Sunday...

Thanks everyone for making these nearly Hogswatch Virgins (I'd say we got to second base last year) feel so welcomed and thoroughly entertained - it's been a joy.

Si and Lisa
And so he says to me, you want to be a bad guy? and I say Yeah Baby! I want to be bad! I says Surf's up space ponies,I'm making gravy without the lumps! Ah ha ha ha ha haaaaa!!!!!

SPOOOOOON!

This is the event you're looking for.
Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle too.

Using your old computer to shop for a new computer online is rather cruel
It's like asking your dying wife if she has any cute girlfriends

Sometimes I tell a joke and sense a great disturbance in the Force, as if a million souls have cried out in anguish and been silenced...
My next project is a book in which I explore the influence of the music of Beyonce on the writings of J R R Tolkien. It's called "It you write it, you have to put a ring in it"

No, that's just a hundred souls groaning in anguish- an easy mistake to make.

AND you were asking the wrong people - at least three attendees I know of have a light saber swooshy app on their iphones :)

LadyT has a Leia Slave costume!
Many of us have light sabers - which usually come out at Wadfest actually!
I had a kitten once called Jawa - does that count?

Glad you had fun!
