I did mention reasonably priced sausages, what purpose people put them to is entirely their own business.
[regarding Alan Rickman] He had Tim Curry's ability to save the day by putting literally all the scenery in his mouth and gnawing on it like a deranged woodchuck.

I think I'll need to add an addendum to the list to avoid any confusion and awkward questions!

Our Hogswatch wishlist for the committee, is as follows:

Games afoot
Plans in hand
Veggies in plots, humorously shaped, for preference - an example can found here: https://www.facebook.com/110497847377/photos/a.454165977377.255441.110497847377/10153259548987378/?type=1&theater
Cake
Reasonably priced sausages, strictly for the eating of
Hard boiled auctioneers
Cake
Digressions
300 M&Ms
Cheese
Curry, for the murdering of
Beer, for the quaffing of
Sing-songs
Secret Hogfather

. . . any other suggestions?**

Don't stand on curry, it's hard to clean off your shoes and makes the floor slippery
Using your old computer to shop for a new computer online is rather cruel
It's like asking your dying wife if she has any cute girlfriends

As it's NOT Hogswatch, instead of the Hogfather, what if we just have a big Turtle
Anyone who wants can throw a prezzy in, and take a ticket
Later on, there can be some sort of 'present a ticket and get a present' thing
I know it would lose some of the personalisation of the secret hogfather, but as has been said, the less 'hogswatchy'* we make it, the lower key it will be, and the less stress for Bernard, Isobel, Reb & Ian

* Finally, a DW word my spellchecker didn't recognise

And beer will make your feet wet if you stand in it, so you would have nothing to sing about.

Frankly I'd sit down for all three. Without my finger in my ear as well.

true, true . . . but while standing in or on beer and/or curry may lead to wet feet and slippery floors, did you know that, as a non Newtonian fluid, you can go for a quick walk over custard without ending up with either?
. . . If you're stuck for something to do on the Bank Holiday and are in possession of a paddling pool and a few gallons of custard, feel free to try it out!

They did that in the first Disworldcon in Manchester 1996 filled a padling pool with custard, it was a lot of fun if you were watching.

I see your point about keeping away from things that are too Hogswatchy.

However, I think it would be better to just leave it than have a completely random thing. I wouldn't bother buying a present for no-one in particular in order to get something random out of a lucky dip.

Perhaps others disagree but I find having a person I have to buy for commits me to actually doing it.

I can't help noticing that the article doesn't mention why he was forced to sit in a paddling pool of custard . . . ?

I can't remember it was some sort of rashly made promise at the time I think.
