Stitch and Bitch and Knit your own Beard

Postby rentawitch » Tue Aug 10, 2010 12:27 pm

Knit your own beard is shown for Sunday morning.

In fact, we are hoping to run a 'Stitch and Bitch' session each day of the Con.
We shall have patterns for discworld themed dishcloths. Very easy to knit. Just knit and Purl.
Also the stated 'Knit your own Beard' pattern.

If you would like to join us do.. Probably in a corner of the bar. You can bring any knit/crochet/sew project you like.
We hope to have some yarn and needles for beards but if you bring your own size 8 (4mm) needles and a light cotton worsted weight yarn or whatever colour you want to knit a beard in....

We did this at Eastercon this year and knitted clangers, lightsabers and I crocheted a creature from the dungeon dimensions (Cthulhu)!

See you there!

This sounds fun, though I can't knit! I hope some kindly soul will help me learn.
Will have a look round to see if I can borrow some needles to bring with me.

very cool. I have to write the beard pattern down. I think I shall do a dishcloth.

bloody hell that is ridiculous!!
The price I mean.

A rather good idea if you made the hats long pointy ones a la Snow White's dwarves, that could be quite fun :)

I'm growing my own for the weekend.

I haven't been near any knitting shops on my travels so I will not have 4mm needles and yarn with me. I might not be able to stitch, but I'll come and join you anyway. :-)
I can do next Tuesday

Hello. I joined you on day one and knitted the border and several rows of an elephant :) I had to leave early and couldn't find you again but just wanted to sat thank you. Hard to come this year after losing the friend I've been with in the past but it was a lovely welcome. Wish I could have finished the dishcloth though.
