International Discworld Convention 2014 - Web site now live!

Postby SimonF » Sun Apr 07, 2013 07:01 pm

Hello! There have been some changes to http://dwcon.org/ - We have redesigned the site for the Discworld Convention 2014! There's a guest list, information about the hotel, ticket prices, room rates and many other things of joy.

Tickets are not yet on sale, but will be on May 6th - a Bank Holiday in the UK, so hopefully a good day for people to sit pressing 'refresh' over and over!

As ever we'll be adding more information to the site as time goes on. That, and if you still have questions, the best place to ask is always to email info@dwcon.org

Many thanks,
Simon - Comms Team.

there are many other cheaper hotels very nearby BUT central Manchester is rowdy so I am not sure I want to be wandering round in cloak and corset late at night.
We should find out how 3/4 occupancy works and find out how many max we can have in a room! :)

No, She is not inclined to venture abroad again it seems. Not even to Germany or Ireland.

She said not, when we talked about it on Tuesday, after a couple of bad experiences at the last two conventions she's been to :(

Room prices seem to be comparable to th Hilton :? £64 for a single or £57 for a shared twin doesn't seem too bad.

Well I'd miss Pam if she can't come... but in any case I want to arrange some roommates because I am really eager to stay in that hotel, and I think with sharing it's not too bad. I had a really good time rooming with Pam last time. I'd love to stay with her again. I know I wasn't much help with the costumes but I really admire her and enjoy her company :sunny:

Hey, I have received the DWCon invitation by mail, and it looks grand, thank you! It seems Discworld mail knows how to find everyone, even here in Romania :)

Can't wait for:
- May 6th to make the reservation
- August next year, so I'll finally be able to participate

About the hotel, it looks very promising, with practically the whole building to ourselves. I want to mention that, in the light of the Palace Hotel being a listed building, the Wee Free Men had agreed not to make "improvements" of any kind or nature :sunny:
I don't want a happy ending, I want more story.
