I only take part (the largest part, certainly) of the responsibility. There are at least two other people involved at the beginning, and of course SWMBO, who agreed to have him subjected to all that fun.

Have checked with Hotel Liason and good news on the parking, the Palace hotel parking is £8.50 and not £10, which for the centre of Manchester is even better value.
Every Little helps :)
And a big thank you to hotel liaison for being so helpful :thumbl:

I wonder when the first draft of the programme will be up. I'm having trouble deciding what costumes to wear when.

Oook!

I GOT A ROOM AT THE PALACE!!!

I don't know what happened to the people who originally ordered the room, but I hope it was a positive thing that made them cancel rather than otherwise.

But anyway, WE GOT A ROOM AT THE PALACE!!! YAY!

I don't know that one, so I couldn't say... Is it a good thing?

Question: Spikey & I are going to be in London from the end of the Con till the 18th - can everyone (or just some of you) recommend some places/activities that won't strain our budget too badly and won't expose us to the big fireball in the sky?

The British Museum, of course, and personally my favorite is the Tower although there is a small amount of outdoor walking on that but most things to see are inside. And Westminster Abbey. These are on my do-not-miss-under-any-circumstance list.

Also a quick visit to 221B Baker street is amusing.

London's not that hot in the summer, is it? I don't recall it being so. Then again, it's all relative.

Natural History Museum, and the Science Museum! (and if you've got some time left, the Victoria and Albert, but have a look at the other two first)

It depends on what weather system is over us at any given time. Today, and for the rest of the week, it's possibly going to get up to the low 80sF, maybe 27, 28C. It has got up to 39C but that was an extreme!

Oook!

Great suggestions so far - thanks!

Now can anyone recommend any shopping-related places (bearing in mind the whole limited-budget thing)?

And in other news, are we still doing the Forum-pic badges? I haven't heard anything about that in a while
