Now can anyone recommend any shopping-related places (bearing in mind the whole limited-budget thing)?

There are quite a few street markets like Portobello Road (Notting Hill or Ladbroke Grove stops on the tube), Camden Market, Borough Market, or if you fancy checking out a Harry Potter film site there is Leadenhall covered market near Liverpool Street station. This has cobbled streets, Victorian ironwork and an eclectic mixture of shops, cafés, restaurants and stalls.

Ooooo! I just found another opportunity to walk for hours and get terribly lost! Either Thursday afternoon or Friday morning I think I'll go wandering down to Lyme Park, another filming location for Pride and Prejudice. Involves lots of walking and really vague streets. Adventure awaits! The wilderness must be explored!

Anyone else want to go? I do not guarantee I know what I'm doing, but I do have a map and a compass. Will buy a round for the survivors.

After having slept on it, I think I'll go look at the library on Thursday and do this on Friday, when I've had some sleep. Will have a clearer head.
