I need a helpful assistant for a 15 minute slot for one of the con programmes
Literally all that's needed is to pull on some strings
(I have to do the building work too so any bright ideas would be welcome :) )

Oook!

For no particular reason whatsoever  , I was just wondering if our favorite wisequacker would be MC-ing* the Maskerade again

* or whatever you call it when you stand to one side of the stage and call on each act
What ape? Oook! :book:

Hi all... I haven't been around for a while but I thought I'd stop in and say hi.

I thought there'd be more activity on the run up, but hope to see some of you there! :D

I don't know what to call it either but I'll be doing it - assuming I get packed! Bit hectic here ;-)
My next project is a book in which I explore the influence of the music of Beyonce on the writings of J R R Tolkien. It's called "It you write it, you have to put a ring in it"

Where can you buy one of those movie calendars where the pages fly off and suddenly it's the future?

Has anyone got a calendar where you can stick the pages back on? I need more preparation time!!!

I usually wait a week before commenting, just so any minor delights and niggles fade to nothing, and only the big things remain

But this time, why wait

I didn't bother going to the ConCom "So you think you can do better" this year because ...
No
I couldn't
Nobody could

The only negatives (heat, humidity, inexperienced bar staff, limited breakfast items, giant fire-breathing hornets of doom) were nothing concom could have fixed (well, the sight of Jelmer Graafstra hoovering up a GF-BHoD will last for the rest of my life) and everything within their control was bloody fantastic!

From rewriting the entire Saturday program to avoid some 'big ticket' clashes, to putting on the smoothest, best organised, best menu-ed, gala dinner I've seen in 22 years of DW conventions, everything they did was perfect

I have so much love and respect for them all
