The Broken Drummers is an "officially unofficial" London Discworld fan group meets on the first Monday of every month in the Monkey Puzzle, Paddington.

I post information on this forum. I also have a mailing list. Please PM me with your email address if you want to be added to it.

I've also started doing more with the Facebook group.

Visitors to London are always very welcome.

Australian fan groups are all listed here: http://ausdwcon.org/fan-clubs - one for almost all our capital cities (and two for Sydney)

Is that new? I often here news of other Drummers offshoots. The two Australian ones Sydney Drummers and the Perth group, now called the Treacle Mining Corp. have been around for years. Others have tried but it's hard to get a group running outside a big city.

Sorry DrummerLady - for some reason I never realised I hadn't replied to this post from last year! Most of the Bodhránners are Dublin based so that's the most frequent meet up point - but they have done an overnight to Cork as well and possibly 3/4 of them headed to Galway together. I've not made any meet ups yet myself since I'm UK based these days, but there's always interest when someone suggests a meeting on the facebook group.

Sydney has two 'Drummers' groups - Mended Drummers in the city and Western Drummers in the western suburbs. Perth Drummers did rename themselves the Treacle Mining Company for something a bit unique[1]. Although the other Australian groups don't use the 'Drummers' name, they're still fan clubs that get together for fun times:

Sydney: Mended Drummers, Western Drummers
Melbourne: Victorian Discworld Klatch
Adelaide: City of Small Gods
Brisbane: Pratchett Partisans
Perth: Treacle Mining Company
Canberra: Drumknott's Irregulars

Info on all groups can be found at http://ausdwcon.org/fan-clubs

[1] The other reason being, they kept getting people joining their group who wanted to know about the drum/music scene in Perth.

Prague has a very active group that meets monthly in a nice café near the city centre

Their website is (unsurprisingly) in Czech, but Chrome does a decent job of translating

I'm pondering appling to change the name from banjaxed bodhrainers to O'connell street irregulars, due to the irregularity of our meet ups.

There's four of us who met at the last irish con who are meeting up on a more regular basis but it's nothing discworldian as such.

It's all on one floor - cafe bar at the front, games rooms at the back
