My name's Pete and I'm a stampaholic (only DW ones mind). I was number 16 to sign up. I've also posted more than any of the other saddos in here.

I am a former Mr Universe, and once won the international Tiddlywinks competition. I currently co-ordinate installation of ATMs for a high street bank. I love fresh fruit, chicken, and marmite, though not at the same time.

I have an eclectic music taste, love Sci-Fi books and TV, and have a massive capacity for remembering useless information. I am a massive Leicester Tigers fan, and am the current world record holder for beermat flipping.

I am married to Sue, and we got married at Wadfest in 2003.

Some of the above may be made up.

My name is Susanne, I'm 37. My husband is Derek and we have two daughters Ava 4 and Vivian 10 mos.

I first discovered TP when Small Gods came out and I've been hooked ever since. Can't name a favorite book, but I love Granny Weatherwax & Death.

Heard the stamps were going to be made shortly before Going Postal came out and started buying as soon as the site was up. Wish I could go to the events, but I'm a little too far away. :(

Updated again since I realise this is a wee bit out of date

Um, so. I'm 32 (erk, I'm getting old). I live in Australia, down in the bottom right corner of the mainland. I joined the forum fairly early on when I first became interested in Discworld stamps. I've since stopped collecting the new ones but still work quietly on collating my five year collection and I am making a series of stamp yearbooks for this purpose. Year 1 and 2 are done and I have Year 3 started- there is a file on my computer, I just have to put something in it now in my spare time!.

Back in the distant past (ie, last year) I was a mild mannered scientist. Happily going to work each day in the gene factory, putting together little mutants. Those days are gone now and I'm back at uni this year for a career change- teaching high school science. I have one year to learn to be a teacher, then they release me into the wild.

Otherwise, I enjoy just about every sort of craft you can mention, lots of geeky toys and travel (something I have done very little of but would welcome the winning lottery ticket to enable me to do more of!)

I'm James (29), and I'm currently a postdoc at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. And as luck would have it, I did my PhD in the same department at Melbourne University as Kelshandra (creepy!!!). I first started reading Pratchett... a long time ago. Due to the prohibitive cost of shipping from the Great Southern Land, I have had to buy all the books AGAIN, so I have nearly all of them twice now. But that's okay, because my wife Christine has only recently seen the light and started reading them, so it was worth it!

Favourite Pratchett books: Guards! Guards!, The Truth, Going Postal and Good Omens

Favourite stamp: The half penny red, of course!

My greatest wish: Like the other overseas members, I want to go to the shower!!!

Before Tom was so nice as to change it for me I used to be (rather unimaginatively) jafraser. And if anyone wants to have a chat about basidiomycete genome evolution, you're probably just as sad as I am!

I'm Jason. I'm 33 and have be married to Lisa since 1996. We have two children Emily (6) and Lucy (1). We live just outside Reading in Berkshire. I have been working as an application developer for a small noise control company for the last 12 years.

In order to keep sane I fill my spare time with reading Discworld, writing Discworld Monthly and spending far too much time positing on forums like this. I also try to spend some time with my family just to remind them who I am.

I love rock music such as Motorhead, Led Zep, Iron Maiden, Metallica, The Darkness, etc and some more subtle stuff like Pink Floyd, Meatloaf and Camel. I have a particular hate of dance music and most chart music but that's my problem.

I am looking forward to Wincanton for a chance to meet up with old friends and make some new ones.

Hello ... I'm Colin, aged 61 and retired ... which is wonderful because it allows me to pursue the career I was born to follow ... bone idleness.

In a previous life I worked in various managerial positions for a company which manufactures aircraft components .. which is why I always travel by car and tend to look up nervously whenever I hear an aircraft.

Experience has shown me that my signature is not a humorous jest.

I'm married to Sue, also retired but previously a paediatric nurse, who is perfect in every way.

Hello.
I'm Michael, 27, soon to be 28 also due to be getting married to my long term partner (of close to 10 years) Jill in September - so if you see me listing a load of my stamp collection around August time on E-bay you'll know we've ran out of money for the wedding!
I'm a stonemason at Lincoln Cathedral and in my spare time produce my own sculpture in stone which I exhibit around the country and sometimes I even sell some of it.
My favourite book is Good Omens, I love Neil Gaimans other books and am looking forward to the new TP book (obviously) and also the new Michael Marshall Smith book.

Hi there. My name's DrJon - no, I'm not a real Doctor. You can find out many things about me at my livejournal info page.

The short version: I live in Melbourne Australia (that's Fourecks, I guess). I'm in my late 30s. I've been online since the mid-eighties. I've worked all sorts of jobs, lots of computers and libraries, currently working in the Solar Energy industry as a Day Job. I'm a Web Designer at night, and also a 'blogger of sorts, a writer of sorts, an artist of sorts, a poet of sorts... lots of other stuff. None of it's really important.

I wear a hat. That's not because of Pterry, but because I grew up in Queensland, where you wear a hat or you die of sun cancer.

I started reading Pterry in the late 70s. I loved those first two Science Fiction books, didn't think much of his initial Discworlds - but grew to love'em.

Umm... I guess that's a reasonable summation.

Hi, I'm Kris, 53, living in Chadwell Heath (halfway between Ilford and Romford but Chadwell Heath sounds better). I have worked in the tax side of chartered accountants offices for since 1978 and although accountants are supposed to be boring, I am trying to be the exception to that rule.

A friend who also lives to read lent me COM followed by LF and ER round about 1988 and as that was all that was written, I had to buy my own after that!

I was a "normal" reader until 2002 when I heard tell about a convention. I went to the convention and it has been all downhill from there. Conventions, Wincanton, Clarecraft, Wadfest, signings, Worldcon and now (sob) stamp collecting.....

Musical taste is eclectic but I am a bit of an old headbanger, reading, I read everything but whodunnits and I love cinema.
Favourite classic film. Some like it Hot.

Favourite discworld book was Soul Music but the Tiffany series and Nightwatch are up there too.

Favourite characters Death and Granny,
Favourite quote,
Blimey, you don't half look like your picture.
(Casanunda to the Horned Man - Lords and Ladies)

I am another cat lover and live with twins, Daemon and Kalico who will be 2 on 3 May.
As we journey through life, discarding baggage along the way, we should keep an iron grip, to the very end, on the capacity for silliness.

Saufen fur Frieden auf Erden

I love my computer, all my friends live in it. :)

Mel

I am 45 years old, live in Caldicot, which is near the old Severn Bridge. Number 20 on the membership list. I am an old soldier working in ARTILLERY, married to sue, who is a tetraplegic (she had a bad fall last year), we have three adult girls, only one at home though.

Mad for everything Discworld, I have a huge collection of Terrys books, and most of the Clarecraft figures, I want to collect Bernards buildings, they are great, I have only got 2 small ones, (Grannys cottage and the music shop) definately getting the Post Office.

My other interests are reading and collecting Tolkein, and Bernard Cornwell (Sharpe) books.

Past interests include collecting cigarette cards and trade cards, I used to be an avid wargamer: ancient, modern and fantasy (warhammer) of which I must still have thousands of figures.

I once came fifth in the european championships in Paris with my Napoleonic army. Hence my interest in Bernard Cornwell.

I'm Hannah, 20, and currently Psychology student.
I grew up in Birmingham, but am studying in Southampton.

Other then Pratchett, I read ... anything with words on it! Although I'm particularly enjoying Jasper Fforde at thhe mo.
I live with my boyfriend of 3 1/2 years, who appreciates the Discwworld books, but is not as addicted as me.

My first Pratchett was Carpet People, when I was about 9/10ish. I then progressed to Discworld and never looked back!

Fav character: take a wild guess!
Fav book: all of them.
