Home safe after a lovely meet at Pam & Daniel's Housewarming!

Lashings of lovely food, good company, two passably-likeable cats  and a fiendishly 'simple' quiz from Paul.
Everyone knew all the answers, he claimed! Ha!
Of course we knew all the answers* ... but not necessarily in the right order!

** that's my excuse ... but I have no idea how Pete will explain his score ...

Huge thanks go to Pam & daniel for inviting us into theirr new home, and looking after us so well.

First...

Big THANKS to Pam and Daniel for a great day. :D

There was plenty of good food and a nice selection of beers, excellent company and conversation and a wicked quiz devized and delivered by Paul.
I'm not going to try and explain my score.
Where's my Roo

All in all a very enjoyable afternoon.

Roll on the next one. :D

Frankie and Poekie are shattered! They have been asleep most of the time since everyone left. They liked you too Colin :meow: I have never known them to be so good.

Thank you to all. It was wonderful to have a house full of lovely people. We had a lot of fun. The housewarming pressies were gratefully received - I loved the fact that most of them involved cooking and kitchen accessories. The recycling box is overflowing with cans and bottles, the neighbours are wondering what went on  and there is hardly any food left which is the biggest compliment to any cook. The trifle just disappeared!

There was discussion last night as to whether Paul's quizzes should be banned as a danger to the collective conciousness.

The house, as you were aware, is still very much a work in progress so when it is finished is an excuse for another party. I did also promise an invitation to the inauguration of the wood burning bread/pizza oven in the garden so lots to look forward to.

See you all at Skipton.

*hugs*

Thank you again Pam & Daniel for putting up with us all. We had a great time, your cooking was wonderful and I even managed to get a clean dry uniform sorted in time for work this morning (wasn't ironed though!).

Pam's already noticed that she's gained an extra house guest. I found a note in my handbag from Bernard Bear informing me that life in Lancashire is too sedate for him and he fancied living it up in Wild Yorkshire so he was leaving. Sorry Pam & Daniel - as it says on his shirt, he's not house trained!

I would just like to add my thanks to Pan and Daniel for being such excellent hosts (and cooks) and to all for such great company.

And if Paul ever tells you that you know all the quiz answers – DON’T BELIEVE HIM (even if it is true) - It just goes to prove that you don’t always remember what you read.

I’m now looking forward to the wood burning bread oven being ready even if it is in exchange for a days work in the garden!

Thanks again..

Pam & Daniel many thanks for being attentive hosts(/butler in Daniel's case) and for cooking a gorgeous piece of gammon!

Thanks to all the fellows of the Institute for another afternoon of great company.

Paul - you continue to frustrate with the simplicity (yet at the same time devious nature) of your quizzes. Thank you for making us look like part-time fans.
Fans who can't name all the books Terry has written.
Even though we've all read them a couple of times.
And they're over there on the bookcase
Look, 5 shelves full of them........
The challenge is met, although I want it recorded that the next quiz will NOT be Discworld based. Discworld themed, yes; Discworld based, no. So you should all have an equal chance to do well if you use your imagination - even Shed-Blokeys who don't know what these nutters are all on about.

When my cousin moved into her new house she had a 'bring-a paper stripper party'; we got fed once every residue of paper had been taken from the living room/hallway. When my brother moved into his, he did something similar (though in a good many more rooms). So my final thanks are for not insisting I bring a trowel and finishing plaster before allowing me to taste your cooking! :D Here's to a wonderful start in your new house.

Why did I read that as a "bring a stripper" party?
