Her Ladyship has asked me to ask you all if you are cognisant of the location of Castle Harkin? If not please feel free to ask for directions.

Usually until your hair turns very blonde! You can see what happened to the Honourable Katie afyer trying one of the batch! Although death is an option, this is only likely to happen to visitors from forn parts-Lancashire and the like!!! You have been warned.

The bad news is that my facial neuralgia returned three weeks ago, without permission, but with a vengeance.

The good news is that a visit to the local GP Surgery has resulted in a medication regime which is ... slowly ... getting on top of it.

The consequent bad news is that I am not fit to drive 'under the influence', so ... sadly ... we will not be able to make it on Sunday.

Many apologies, all round, but especially to our kind would-be hosts Pat & Jan ...

On the plus side, that will be one less prawn required on the barbie.

:(

Hmm. It's not quite as sunny as it was last year and the forecast isn't being terribly helpful as to when the clouds will part.

But the current plan is to press ahead although the meet may be a bit more indoorsy than the typical BBQ. If the rain stops by noon, I'll BBQ outside and eat either in or out as the temperature dictates, otherwise the kitchen doesn't get a day off after all.

Oops pouring down here and still extremely tired from the long day at Fairford (was up at 3.30am) so, much as I would like to meet up, afraid I'm not going to make it! :( so sorry.

So,folks, our 10th Anniversary meeting went off well. Despite some threatening skies, the rain held off and we enjoyed the benefits of Pat's barbecue skills in the open. A good turnout ensured lively conversation and much banter. We were much joyed to see Pam after her very recent operation. The quiz was won by............Pat! so he will be doing the next quiz. Serves him right!

Details of the next meeting will be posted here as usual. Keep watching!

So the Northern Institute is ten years old and still going strong ( a true testament to Paul's persistence). Today's meeting stood testament to that! Having not attended the Institute meeting for some time it was good to see a number of old (and new) friends, I'd forgotten how much I enjoy these get together's (even the quiz - which I am always useless at).

Thank yous to: Pat and Jan for being excellent hosts (and cooks), Paul for his usual organisational skills, Heather for the quiz, Pam for the eggs and everyone else of their excellent company.

I will try much harder to be at the next meeting.
