It has been asked so I have created this topic.

The method I use to identify a sport is as follows

1. Scan the sheet at about 300 dpi (assumes you have purchased one)
2. Using Paint Shop Pro, or similar, cut out blocks of stamps (2 by 2), so all the stamps are covered.
3. Save each block as a gif file
4. Load the images into an animator program. I use PSP Animator.
5. Watch the playback for any sudden blip. The blip is the location of the sport.

Djelibeybi sports

1 ptascp
5 ptascp

Allow a little time for the image to load then look for the blip.
There are not two sports on the 5t stamp sheet it is just that there are three rows so it appears in two blocks.

Wow I've never thought of doing that way, what a great idea...

I always used the low-tech version of this method: a good squint :D

The "bird" sport stands out well using the animation method but I think my few remaining grey cells might struggle
with prolonged exposure to the flickering image. The second 5 Ptascp "border" sport is just about visible if you know
where to look but doesn't stand out like the "bird".

The scans below shown the common, the "bird" sport and the "border" sport.

http://www.cardmine.co.uk/discworld/djelibeybi-sports.jpg

To see the "border" sport, look at the alternating small & large "bubbles" in the outer border.

At the bottom of the stamp on both sides of the panel bearing the caption "Djelibeybi" there are 4 bubbles.

On the common the sequence (top to bottom) is small, large, small, small.

On the "border" sport the sequence is small, small, large, small.

This second sport is located on the lefthand pane of the sheet at row 2, column 2.

Thank you Steve! Animated stamps, I love it. And thanks for putting up the boarder sport too Ponder, but I've just about gone crosseyed looking for it and can't see it.

If someone could put the Klatch sports up too, that would be awesome! :D

Here is a high-res scan showing the border sport: http://www.cardmine.co.uk/discworld/djelibeybi-5ptascp-border.jpg

The common/bird sport bubbles are above and the border sport bubbles below.

See http://www.cardmine.co.uk/discworld/klatch-sports-2.jpg

The animation works very well with these sports - it even makes the Phoenix

Many thanks Steve for opening up this thread. I am sure that it will be a very popular and well used one. :thumbl:
