I recently acquired one of the Clean Ear Patrician black mini-sheets of 6, cat. no. she0038c. I was able to make certain deductions which were confirmed after consulting with the designer.

Firstly, let me address the issue of print quality mentioned in the catalogue. Looking at the general sheets you will note that they are comb perforated, that is, the horizontal perforations coincide exactly with the vertical perforations. This is a clear indication that they had been produced by a professional stamp printer and, as with the first year general stamps, that printer was the dutch firm Enschede. Hence the higher quality of printing.

Moreover, these general sheets were ordered in large quantities and so, there was no requirement to locally print any further examples. Coupled with the fact that Enschede were not keen on producing sports on the sheets (a sport might be seen as a genuine printing error), we can deduce that all of the small mini-sheets were produced locally as deliberate sports. They were printed at the foot of the Tower of Art sheets, not required in large quantities and so printed locally. This was, in fact, common practice for the production of extraneous sports.

If you click on the 3 images of these mini-sheets, here http://www.discworldstampcatalogue.co.uk/she0038.php the enlargement clearly shows that they are all Clean Ear Patricians either with the dot after 'One Penny' or without. This is as opposed to the single stamp image that appears when you click on Stamps: shs0038a which is an imperforate stock image that doesn't match. None of these can be interpreted as simply being lower quality ordinary stamps since there was, as I have said, no requirement for them.

To summarise, the Clean Ear Patrician was produced as a deliberate sport either with the additional missing dot sport or not (and here may not be the best place to raise the fat dot sport :) ). All of this also applies to the East Knoyle Penny Patrician Green where it is accepted that the Clean Ear is a sport.

I've spotted two out of the three sports of the new UU stamps:
We have a 1P Winking Ridcully and a Tilted Hat on the Penny Farthing statue of Alberto Malich.
My eyes are not good enough to make out the third one.
It's been a long time since the old and venerable custom of naming a sport after it's discoverer has been applied and though I've spotted a fair few in my time I've never asked before. On this occasion I'd like to put in a humble request for the winking Ridcully to be called The Murgatroyd.
I can only conclude that I'm paying off Karma at a vastly accelerated rate.

I think Alberto's sport might be missing the chamberpot - those pesky students can never be trusted!

The Farthing stamp (bottom lefthand corner of the sheet) has a crescent moon in place of a star to the right of the Wizard's hat.
It will be known as the "mooning" sport.

I will name the Winking Ridcully stamp sport the Murgatroyd.

Uberwald 30 Bizot sport
R2C4 pitchforks of the mob at the bottom of the path.

I can't find a sport on the coffin stamp but I don't think there is one.

But how can that be a sport when they are all different given the messages.

Because it's the only one with blood red liquid in the glass

Then there should be an exact match except for the glass and there is not. stir stir

Blood exposed to air is much darker. Maybe that is the only one that is not blood. :D

Pseudopolis Yard Watch House 4p R3C2 something (can't remember the name of the thing for transporting prisoners in the books, a paddy wagon where I grew up) going in or out of arch on the right.
