Crazy eBay ... Again!

I suppose because I'm such a recent collector I don't have a handle on what things will go for but I was surprised that I was the only bidder on last years ToA Festive and Great Freeze variation... I suppose it's that most current collectors are also LBE subscribers but anyway I was a happy flatalist to get them so easily .

I've also noticed an embarrassment of riches from a seller in Spain... these may be very sought after but they're too rich for my blood - especially in quantity (opening bids starting around 20 quid for most) might be okay to 'fill in the cracks' in a collection I suppose.

Always worth trawling through the trading list before bidding. You might not have much to trade if you've only just started but many established collectors may be happy to take cash or LBE's. And sometimes if you ask nicely you can get a pleasent surprise (as I did a few weeks ago).

It seems a shame that more items don't start off at lower prices. Although its upto the seller what they do, there must be many who lose out on a sale because they don't have a lower starting price to tempt more than one bidder.

ffoulk, you are right. They are very rare, but everyone believes they are way too much. I only got the festive variant , but I couldn't bid after my dad got his paypal bill (in the region of £40 on stamps ).

I can understand it - a green Susan sport is rare enough on its own but a joined inverted pair - it's pobably rarer than a triangle sport.

Normally the time to watch is the last 10 mins when the snipe bids go in, I doubt if you can refresh your screen fast enough to see all the changes.
I just wish I could afford to join in.

They've all finished, I wasn't actively watching any, so don't know what prices they attracted

If you check the completed listings you'll see there are 25 items from Spain unsold because they attracted no bids at the prices they were posted at.
