Bernard doodle stamps

Postby archerinwood » Sun Mar 20, 2011 08:10 pm

I love the new bernard doodle stamps. I would like people to post pictures on this topic if they have one. I am also looking to buy one. I don't have much money but any offers would be gratefully recieved, and I know they are very rare. I hope I get one now after buying 4 of the new LBEs. Is that the only way of getting them?

I recieved the package today. Thank you very much for the LBE. It was a great surprise and I had not expected it to be like that. I love the drawing and the slip was very funny. Please send my thanks to Bernard for the drawings. It is definitely the best LBE I have!

Thank you so much,

Charlie :thumbl:

The Doodles seem to have migrated, and it could be someone else doing them. Someone who is allowed to have a ball point pen.
On the back of my envelope of my latest order is a little sketch of one of my alledged friends. And thats all they are. Honest.

A Next Generation of Doodles have appeared in the Hogswatch LBEs

Unlike the previous, these seem to be printed rather than one-off originals.

Any more of these around?

Well I got 7 and I saw at least another 10 other people got.

As they were all unique why do you think they are printed?

I may have jumped to conclusions on the printing, but the old ones always used a felt pen and were line drawings. If these were pencil they left no indications of pressure being applied. I am not getting an eraser out to test them!

Why not post a picture up of your 7 Frank instead of hiding them away, and give us a laugh.
Same applies to the other 10 too!

Revising for an OU exam on Tuesday, it will have to wait.

I currently have 29 stamp sized, one LBE and an A4 envelope all with Bernard (or in one case Ian) doodles that I know I can lay my hands on without searching.

Give Bernard a pen (or forget to hide them) and there is no stopping him. :-)

Serendipity Happens, or a one-in-a-million chance happens nine times out of ten. . .

I recently won a LARGE lot of DW stamps in an on-line raffle. One of the Many stamps was a Sto Lat 5p brown Queeen Keli. With a Bernard 'scribble' on the bottom edge selvedge. MiIdly interesting, but the doodle was really nothing identifiable. It could have been Bernard trying out a pen to see if the ink flowed. Flipped open my album to refresh myself on what the sport looks like. Hmmmmm - I already have a bottom edge stamp with a doodle - man smoking a pipe - in the selvedge - and the pipe smoke is curling away to the right.* Hold the phone! This new stamp is from the adjacent column to the right (selvedge text mates up). Hot d**n - the 'scribble' is a perfect match - it's more pipe smoke! :bounce: :bounce: Now HOW coincidental is that????

*this doodle is more in the Apprenticial style than Bernardish
