Hi

My rant and tuppenceworth is this

The Waterstones Cover was sent out in large numbers (1600?) and probably ended up with people who like the books but don't collect ephemera............so no problem if they end up on ebay

The Hogswatch First Day cover (400?) was open to multiple purchase and people bought several........... as it was the first one off the website and a bit of a learning curve, it's not suprising that some ended up on ebay

The Covers with the Assassin's Stamp (100?) was sold as one per customer.........Yet within hours ( days) 5 ended up on ebay for stupid money

My Rant is that those 5 people who bought to re-sell should not be allowed to buy limited additions again

I didn't get one......... which is no problem even if it occurs again providing all the limited editions end up in the hands of people who want them to keep.

If in 6 months or a year, the collector wants to sell them out of need or their interest has moved on then I'm cool with that

But to buy to quickly resell is not playing the game

Having said that you always get the opportunist....... the thing is not to let them do it again

I agree with you bout that one limited to one per person and then end up on ebay
The questain is How do you stop them?

Just to correct a couple of points.

There were 10000 Waterstones Covers.

The Used Thrup'ny Dreadful was not a First Day Cover.

Don't bother with flowers they are pointless, I heard once that a bloke bought his wife a propagator one year and now every year he buys her a pack of seeds.

OK

Point one

At 10,000 it's not suprising they show up on ebay

Point two

I never said the Thrup'ny Dreadful on an envelope was a First Day Cover

It was the principle of limited editions ending up on ebay I was commenting on
