Joolz wrote:I'm confused. Are there only 100 triangles (90 commons and 10 sports) being issued now? Since when? Up to the Hubwards Gate triangle, it was definitely always announced as 500 triangles (490 commons and 10 sports). Did that change to 100 (90+10) at the Least Gate triangle? Or at the River Gate triangle? Or at the new Patrician's Palace triangle? Or has it not changed from 500 (490+10)? :?

Panic ye not, Joolz! It was my mistake - I'd mistakenly thought that there were only 100 issued, but Frank corrected me at the Essex & London Lodge meeting this afternoon that there have always been 500 issued, including 10 sports. Sorry!! :clown:

I have one, but it's a bit flawed. There's 'a' letter missing from The Patrician's Palace.

I 'think' it's the one that CanadianGadfly has, where he says it's flawed and missing an 'a'. I'm betting that the wording is 'Patrician's Place', rather than 'Patrician's Palace', but it's entirely speculative, hence the ? in my post.

That's it!! 'Patricians Place' is the sport!

Congratulations to CanadianGadfly - winner of the first Triangle Sport of The Year of the Spinning Mouse :thumbl: Huzzah!!

Yes, that's right. I didn't want to state straight out that it was probably the sport, but I strongly suspected it was. :bounce: It's the first 'a' in Palace that's missing. It's just like the common, but with a gap in the word 'Palace' to spell P lace.

I passed the stamp on to my London-based friend (he's the collector) who is currently at a convalescent home recovering from a heart operation. He's doing well. I didn't take a picture of the stamp.

That's very kind of you and really glad your friend is recovering well - as a Flatalist, he'll be thrilled to find out he's got the first Triangle sport of the year! :thumbl: :thumbl: :thumbl: Is he a member of the forum? If not, get him to join and we can tell him how jealous we all are!
