Och, I had a post full of train puns to post but Reb beat me to the punch on her news letter. I'll just go with a monorail.... or as I like to call them; a one liner.

On the assumption that my three LBE's won't contain a full set of singles I wondered if there were any small group of collectors (Three more, apart from me), who would like to split the cost of a spare sheet of the new Railway farthing stamps with me...? It would only come to about three quid each for us each to get a strip of every variety? (including postage and distribution costs).
I can only conclude that I'm paying off Karma at a vastly accelerated rate.

I got at least one of each of the seven new stamps :D and have to confess that I especially like the Black Ribboner Carriage, with its gothic windows (I love a bit of gothic, me  ) and dear little turret sticking out at the front

Charles - I've got spares of the First Class and Open-Top Troll Carriages if you want them

I wonder if these new stamps will be collectable for GCTS points. Somehow I doubt it

I did well as it turns out... I had forgotten one of my LBE season tickets had just expired and got all but one out of my two LBE's
Thank you kindly Grace but the only one I'm missing was the Black Ribboner carriage... I got two strips of 3, left edge and right edge, so I'm missing the middle one...
Does anyone have a spare Black Ribboner Carriage?

Why, they are a standard issue not a special.

They will appear on the GCTS list.
Based on price there will be an exchange rate of 8.
After the Steam to Summer LBE finished the stamps will only be available in sheets.

I have a question. There are seven stamps (one engine and six carriages) in this release, but there is a seventh carriage that appears around the border of the stamp sheet and on the cover of the LBE. What is this seventh carriage supposed to represent?

Well spotted, that Flatalist! :thumbl:
I'm no train spotter, but it looks like a tank wagon to me, which I think are used to carry liquid cargoes. Like an old-fashioned one of these:

Or a mail sorting carriage?

Check out the Black-Ribboners carriage featured in the top right corner of the selvage.

Cor! Well spotted, Mr James! :thumbl: :thumbl: :thumbl: When they said no sport on the stamps, I was lulled into a false sense of security and didn't think to check the selvedge for sports! I should know better than to trust those sneaky buggers at the Emporium!
