Hope you like 'em... this has been Matthew's debut piece of postal art, and certainly his first foray into flately, but his line work is gorgeous and makes for some bold additions to the collection. I'm working with him on another set for later in the year, but in the meantime I'll certainly pass on all the nice comments we had on orders today.

Happy stamping!

Did you try going via new stamps rather than the LBEs option?

Kel - not sure what happened there, maybe there was a glitch. The LBEs + all the stamps are showing up as in stock now . . .

Huh, you're both right, it appears on the new releases but not under LBE which is where I went this morning because, well, it's a LBE. Silly me thought that's where I'd find it and I didn't look further. Thank you, now to try ordering with computer perched weirdly because it's a cold night so the cats on my lap where my computer would normally sit.

I have a question about collecting these stamps.

I have the sheets but would like to collect all the colour variations as single stamps from LBE purchases, and then display them as a reconstructed sheet in my album.
The question is should I remove the selvedge from the marginal stamps or leave it on for this purpose?

I do something similar myself and have struggled with this question too. However, unless the selvedge was blank or I had an exact double, I couldn't bring myself to remove it - so I've still got some gaps in the displays until I get the right stamp piece for the jigsaw. I actually don't mind having gaps as it draws the eye and reminds me there's still more to collect - but then, I'm a bit weird and actually find the collecting more fun that the completion :D

As I have the sheets I remove all selvedge no matter which stamp it is.

You can leave the selvedge on and fold it back so as not to detract from the presentation on the album page. This works with typical rectangular stamps, not so much with the triangles, diamonds, and weird Escheresque BS Johnson things.

Steve & Grace - Do either of you need any singles to fill gaps? I have a bunch of duplicates from LBEs that could use a home. PM or email me.

Thanks for the offer, but while they are still appearing in LBEs I will let them dibble in in ones and twos. No doubt though, there will be one impossible to find, while I get 6 spares of another. Like Pannini cards.

Meanwhle, three answers to my qustion, and three different answers. Normally I would leave selvedge on the stamp, as this does indicate sheet position of marginal stamps, but with these UUs the colour 'smearing' does that job. Tearing off the selvedge - once done cannot be undone, but folding over can make them sit funny in mounts on the album page.

Oook!

So collect 2 of each selvedge'd stamp - make a separate page with just those stamps, with selvedge attached, and another with all the color variations with the selvedge removed.

I must say, it's threads like this that make me happy I decided early on to collect whole sheets :thumbr:
