Well, from everything I've seen, the Federation is basically the Empire, version 1.0

There's a Star Wars Con 4-6th December at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre, Longbridge Rd, Manchester

Most of the confirmed guests so far, including David Prowse, are only there for the Saturday which is already sold out, but Friday & Sunday tickets are still available. No big stars, unfortunately - at least not yet. Although I'm still tempted, as you get to sit in the Millennium Falcon and X-Wing cockpits :D
