New game- caption that image

Postby Kelshandra » Sun Sep 07, 2014 12:34 am

I've discovered a new resource/ source of fun. There is a Flickr stream that has images from old (out of copyright) books. While many images are nothing out of the ordinary, it isn't hard to find many that, particularly out of context, makes you go 'wha?!'

So I propose a new game. Caption the image posted by the previous person and then post a picture for the next person.

Here is one to start things off

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher

Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire

The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre

(Apologies to The Doors...)

Sorry about the sideways image - can't figure out how to rotate it here.

Not many know that the original skunk cabbage extraction process was developed from the military. It was abandoned as impractical when people kept going vertical.

On the 23rd day of their protest, the women's roadblock was showing signs of weakening so reinforcements were parachuted in to hold the borders.

BOFFO INSTALAUGH KIT - TROUBLESHOOTING INSTRUCTIONS
If the audience are not amused by your performance:
1. Wave the Micro-Wand robustly in a roughly circular manner
2. Stand on a chair so they can see your silly socks and shoes more clearly and
3. Turn on the laughing gas.
My next project is a book in which I explore the influence of the music of Beyonce on the writings of J R R Tolkien. It's called "It you write it, you have to put a ring in it"

Go on, you know you want to finish that one- but what is it for and what is it actually used for?

Rumours were bouncing around Parliament when The Right Honourable Michael Gove MP (Education) announced his new fast pizza machine as a way of solving the schools meals issues bore a sinister resemblance to the automatic cremation machine that The Right Honourable Jeremy Hunt (Health) was proposing should be introduced. Here shown are the front and back of the machines. Solent Green, the ecological Hampshire company that has designed both machines denies the two pieces of equipment are the same although they do say parts are interchangeable to reduce costs.

Soelnt Green is made out of MP'S! and fed to school children. Arrrgh, those poor children , though a slice of Green party pizza with a bit of conservative baloney isn't too bad . :D
