Sodding oven's gone on the blink. Had both compartments going and when I went to check on my food they're both dark and cooling. The food was just about cooked but what a time to happen. Luckily I'm not cooking Xmas dinner but still a pain in the arse. I'm hoping it's just the fuse and I'll be able to buy new ones tomorrow. If not then hopefully i'll be able to have repaired rather than having to buy a new one.

No,i got a generic letter with nothing specific to me as to why i have to shelter.i did get a second letter with a list of health conditions that would mean having to shelter if you had one or more.

Sorry to say all of the shielding letters have been like that. At no point have we heard which of the laundry list of things wrong with Adrian was enough to put him on that list, but we knew something would be enough. And the number of letters made us think that there's one from the lung clinic, one from the rheumatology clinic, one from DWP, possibly even one from GP... They were different letter, none had a detailed reason though.

My vaccine invite doesn't even make this clear - I'm clinically vulnerable or a carer for one... yes my asthma, my history of autoimmune disease or the other stuff could put me down as a non-shielding vulnerable person... But I think it's because I'm an unpaid carer, much easier for them to identify - and then I was invited twice!

My son had a scooter accident last night

He has a broken tooth and some stitches in his chin and upper lip, and a lot of road rash, but he's okay. We spent 5 hours in the ER last night. Kept him home today to recover. I think we're both still a bit frazzled, but he has an appointment with the dentist and it's all going to be okay.

I'm tired and stressed, think I'll knock off early today.

He has a broken tooth and some stitches in his chin and upper lip, and a lot of road rash, but he's okay. We spent 5 hours in the ER last night. Kept him home today to recover. I think we're both still a bit frazzled, but he has an appointment with the dentist and it's all going to be okay.

What sort of helmet was he wearing? Skid-lids and half-face helmets are not worth the money.

I think skid-lid is the best description. But I don't know if any helmet would have been able to protect his face and chin.

He's healing up fine, eating a ton of soft food and chilling out. I'm even doing his chores for him this weekend.

Full face helmets* would have protected the head.
I attended an exhibition as part of an Advanced Rider course which featured a series of photographs of the results of accidents. The main message was protection;
There were images of bones, as in worn down to the bone. It was not nice.

Hope your son is past the worst now - I bet his bruising is looking suitably horrific by now.

My Argh - my Mum has a back problem, it's stopping her doing anything, she can't sleep and has gone from reasonably fit to using two sticks in weeks (her leg is collapsing). She's due for a spinal scan in a couple of weeks but for now she's just surviving (and not getting the best help from the GP - antidepressants? honestly?)

Yesterday afternoon my youngest brother called - she'd called 111 and got triaged as needing an ambulance...

I find out at midnight that she hadn't been taken into hospital but given morphine... No one has told me anything else.
