Envelope exchange

Postby Kelshandra » Fri Apr 24, 2020 05:23 am

Because our letters can go out, even if we can't.

Anyone interested in resurecting the old envelope/letter/card exchange? Given that many of us are stuck at home for various levels of lockdown it might be fun to work on some creative mail both to entertain while making it (or is cacking to myself when I have a fun idea only something I do?) as well as give us a reason to walk to the letter box* It will also potentially entertain people enroute depending on how weird your packing is.

Those who are international to others will have longer than usual times** for things to go/arrive but that could be argued as being just part of the surprise when it actually makes it to someone's address.

If you are interested, PM me your postal address and if you have a limit on how many letters you are willing to send. I'll send out addresses at the end of the month to participants and then the rest is up to you. Please not that that means that internet Discworld folks will have your postal address*** If that is a concern though, think before you join up! And spread the word to any DW folks you think might like to join in, the forum isn't as busy as it once was and I'd hate for anyone to miss out****

* I'm Australian, my letter box is at the end of my driveway and is my only excuse to leave the house most days as I'm teaching from home at present.
**As a point of reference my LBE from the release BEFORE this one that were ordered on the day of release are still enroute, turns out when 99% of planes stop flying, mail slows down.
***Fortunately, the lack of planes means I am unlikely to suddenly appear on your doorstep and ask to crash on your couch
****Although if you miss the deadline I can probably hook you up anyway

Well mine are away. We will now start the calendar to see when they arrive with mail being as slow as it is. I think it took about 6 months in the days of sailing ships to go from Aus to the UK/US. Let's see if we can beat that! :clown:
