Hogswatch 2013 and other happenings...
Greetings one and all,
Far be it from us to wish the summer away, but we're getting rather excitable about all things Hogswatch. That's because this year also marks the 30th anniversary of Discworld, and we'll be doing our best to celebrate the occasion at our annual Hogswatch festivities in Wincanton on 29th November - 1st December.
Merriments will include a series of Unseen University Hogswatch lectures, theatrical entertainments, feasting, gaming, charitable amusements and, if you've been good little boys and girls, a visitation from a certain Hogfather, all held in venues throughout Ankh-Morpork's own twin town in a weekend of Pratchett-related wonder. More details of what Hogswatch holds in store can be found on the Discworld Emporium Website here:
http://www.discworldemporium.com/Hogswatch and on the events bit of our Facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/events/422656181176405/ with more details being revealed as the date draws nearer.
Of course by that time we'll all have a brand new Discworld novel to chat about as the 40th book in the series, Raising Steam, has been rescheduled for release on the 7th November, and if Paul Kidby's cover artwork is anything to go by we're in for a thrilling ride! With new books in mind, we can reveal that Ian and Bernard of the Emporium have been cooking up some interesting stuff at the behest of Terry and Transworld Publishers. We can speak no more about it, but they do seem to be enjoying themselves far too much.
Another celebration of Pratchett's work takes the form of the Brighton & Hove City Reads festival, which this year is dedicated to Guards! Guards!, and will feature an evening with the creator himself along with talks, readings, movie screenings and fine fodder. For tickets and information visit

The Guild of Embalmers 2p Minisheet is the latest in a series of issues celebrating the smaller, but no less important, of Ankh-Morpork's guilds. Featuring six stamps and a presentation card this lovely little item is a charming addition to any Discworld collection and can be viewed HERE. (
